Call for Industrial Presentations
22nd International Conference on Conceptual Modeling
13-16 October 2003, Chicago, Illinois, USA

The ER2003 conference program includes an industrial stream for presentations focusing on conceptual modeling issues arising in industrial practice. Although theoretical aspects may be included, the content must be geared towards the practitioner, and should not assume a deep mathematical background. Proposals for this stream are solicited from both the industrial and academic communities. Possible topics include use or evaluation of modeling tools, new approaches to practical modeling problems, frameworks for the modeling process itself, evaluation of current modeling approaches, and illuminating case studies.

The target duration of each industrial presentation is 30 minutes. If practical demonstrations using modeling tools are included as part of the presentation, it must be made clear what modeling issues are being addressed by these demonstrations.

An abstract of at most 1000 words, summarizing the motivation and content of the proposed presentation, should be e-mailed to one of the industrial co-chairs, Terry Halpin (terry@northfacelearning.com) or Peter Aiken (paiken@acm.org) by March 24, 2003. Acceptance will be based on this abstract alone. The evaluation committee will consist of the industrial co-chairs and other members of the Program and Organizing Committees.

Successful applicants will be required to refine their abstracts according to reviewer feedback as needed. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings. Authors must also submit an electronic slide presentation to be made available in a separate printed publication at the conference as well as on the Web. Format details will be sent with the acceptance notice.
